Area of interest: Teachers
For those whose primary area of interest is academic research, the following sections of the British Ecological Society website are recommended:
The BES is developing a range of resources to help educators. Books with practicals to get students really involved, a poster that explores the different areas of ecology through illustrated examples and links to online resources are just a few of the things the BES offers .
Have you got a great idea but just need some funding to get it off the ground? The BES has a range of grants to help educators develop innovative approaches to communicating ecology. The Society also has a grant to help teachers with the costs of attending its meetings.
The Society publishes a series of books called Ecological Issues. These books introduce the scientific facts behind current issues in an easily accessible way.
