Ecology: Into the next 100 years

18 - 23 August 2013
London, United Kingdom

In celebration of the BES's centenary in 2013 the Society is delighted to be hosting the 11th INTECOL Congress.  The theme of the congress is advancing ecology and making it count.  This reflects the Society's ambition to present world class ecology at a meeting that truely moves the science forward.

The congress will be held at the Excel Centre, voted 2007 Best Venue in in the Eventia Awards; this waterside exhibition venue will also be one of the prominent sites for the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics.

It is situated in a stunning waterfront location alongside Royal Victoria Dock, their 100 acre campus-style site is within easy access of central London - having 3 onsite DLR stations, easy access to the Jubilee Line, London City airport plus onsite parking for 4,000 cars and the addition of further transport links in time for the Olympics and Paralympics.

Excel is based in the heart of 'new London' 10-minutes from Canary Wharf, Europe's most vibrant and rapidly growing business district, and 20 minutes from the City.  This area has been transformed over the past 10 yeas with historic buildings juxtaposed with searing skyscrapers, innovative new venues, contemporary hotels, bars, restaurants, shops and dozens of visitor attractions and will continue its expansion with millions of pounds of investment.

This will be an exciting time visit London and experience everything that the great capital has to offer. For more information on this area of London, click here.
