Getting a grant to run a meeting (Commemorative Event, Workshop, etc)

The BES offers several grant schemes to help individuals organise a meeting.

Workshop Sponsorship
Workshops may take many formats but should include two-way dialogue between participants to seek answers to specific, topical questions. As with all meetings that the BES funds, the issues addressed should be clearly focused on ecology.

Commemorative Events Fund Workshop Sponsorship
The Commemorative Events Fund was established to support events, such as lectures, which commemorate important figures in the history of ecology.

Visiting Speakers to Student Societies Workshop Sponsorship
Grants are available to aid student societies of schools, colleges or universities to invite speakers to address them on ecological topics.

National Science Week
The National Science Week is organised by the British Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS) and aims to make science more accessible and relevant to a wide audience. The variety of events organised under the umbrella of SET is huge with schools, universities, museums and businesses all taking part. In order to encourage the development of National Science Week initiatives centred on ecology, the BES has established this grant for the sponsorship of National Science Week events.
