		<description><![CDATA[Agree with most of the key recommendations - though &#039;setting up a committee&#039; does make ones heart sink. Hope it will encompass the whole spectrum of those involved, being both representative &amp; diverse. One area that was highlighted &amp; has an obvious solution is to have the subject benchmarked in universities. Maybe not as &#039;Taxonomy &amp; Systematics&#039; - but recognition &amp; identification skills have been lost &amp; there are very few higher education establishments that provide adequate cover and practice of this skill set. Dont expect to develop a new generation of alpha taxonomists, but do expect to have sufficient students moving into the workplace with good species level ID skills. 
A plea that NERC do not just fund studentships on the molecular side - barcoding is not the solution - need to blend the two areas.]]></description>
