Teaching Ideas for Fieldwork

The BES works with teachers on a regional basis each year to develop teaching and learning ideas for the school grounds, local community and further afield.

The following resources were produced by teachers in Bradford and Leeds in 2007.

Greenhead School: What determines where particular species live, what are the factors affecting leaf size in plants

Hanson School: Adaptations of organisms to their habitats and as indicators of pollution

Ilkley Grammar School: The fate of the holly leaf miner, investigating their distribution in the school grounds

Queensbury School: Factors affecting the distribution of playing field plants

Wyke manor School: Investigating distribution of animals and plants in the school grounds
