Schools
The BES increasingly engages with education policy makers with a view to improving the ecological content of UK curricula, supports and enables teachers in developing their understanding of ecology and fieldwork through collaboration with the Science Learning Centres courses, supports and promotes the use of school grounds for the teaching of science outside the classroom through its Education Grants and promotes the relevance of ecology through the publication of teaching and learning resources.
Careers
In collaboration with other Learned Societies and similar organisations the BES promotes the advantages of further study of the sciences for post-16 students, promotes the career paths available through studying the biosciences at undergraduate level and publishes a comprehensive guide to Careers in Ecology and environmental management.
Grants
The BES has a number of education grants that are available to teachers, schools and in some cases other educational providers.
