| The Ecological Project Compendium aims
to publish examples of good practice that demonstrate originality
and effectiveness in the practical component of undergraduate studies
in ecology. The philosophy behind the development is to share good
teaching ideas that will stimulate further innovation and debate
in the teaching of ecology.
The Ecological Project Compendium is one of a series of initiatives
by the Education, Training and Careers Committee
to promote the discipline of ecology. The teaching of ecology in
universities has traditionally comprised a wide variety of methods
that encourage students to observe, experiment and model. The Ecological
Project Compendium is the first initiative by the Committee and
the Society to promote and share good teaching ideas among university
teaching staff.
Submissions to the Compendium should preferably be presented in
a standard format. Each submission is peer-reviewed
from both the ecological and teaching point of view before being
accepted. Preliminary contributions for initial assessment by the
Editorial Board can be sent in any format to the Managing
Editor
