Microbial Ecology in Agriculture: Grant Writing Retreat
This workshop will provide attendees with the opportunity to discuss and develop research bids surrounding microbial ecology of agricultural systems.
This grant writing retreat is hosted by the Microbial Ecology and Agricultural Ecology Special Interest Groups (SIGs), aimed at encouraging cross-SIG collaborative bids within the remit of microbial ecology in agricultural settings. This is targeted at early to mid-career researchers in a position to apply for sizeable research council or other funding. You will be provided with tools and time to write your bids, with input from Prof Richard Bardgett (University of Manchester) and Prof Tim Benton (University of Leeds).
The event will run from approx. 13:00 on Tuesday 16 January 2018 to 16:00 on Thursday 18 January. We are pleased to be holding the event at Abbey Home Farm – an award winning organic farm in Cirencester. The course is residential on the farm and all meals will be provided (fully organic of course!).
The cost is £300 per person (plus £19.19 fee) inclusive of all meals and accommodation.
The deadline for registration is Friday 1 December and there are limited spaces of only 16 so book now to avoid disappointment!
