Meetings Grants

Please note that all BES Meetings grants will be changing after May 2012. Please return to our website in the Autumn to see the new format.

The current BES meetings grants are as follows:

The BES has long since recognised that helping ecologists meet and collaborate is an important tool in furthering the science of ecology. Along with the regular BES and BES Specialist Interest Group meetings run each year the BES also provides support for those wishing to attend or run Ecological conferences and Workshops.

At the BES Annual Meeting and Symposia the registration, accommodation and meals are heavily subsidised by the BES in order to encourage those who might not otherwise be able to attend.

Aside from the support that the BES provided to BES student members through the registration discounts at BES meetings, BES student members can apply for student support for attendance at other relevant ecological conferences including BES Specialist Interest Group run meetings.

Communicating Ecological Science to the public through events is also important part of sharing the results of ecology as well as encouraging the future generations of ecologists, the Public Engagement Grant has been set up in order to fund such meetings and events.

*Please note this grant will not continue after its next deadline. The BES will be encouraging those seeking support to co-ordinate a meeting or workshop to contact our relevant Specialist Interest Group Secretary where possible.
