Early Career Project Grants -

This provides ecologists, recently appointed to academic posts, support for their innovative or important research of a pure or applied nature.

Value of award: up to £20,000

Closing date: 31st January

Overseas Bursary Scheme

This scheme supports excellent ecological science in Africa by funding innovative research.

Value of the award: up to £7,000

Closing date: 1 September

Overseas Fellowships Scheme

This continuation funding builds on the potential of candidates from the Overseas Bursary Scheme.

Value of the award: up to £20,000

Closing date: 1 September

The Field Experience Grants

Supplies professional ecologists with funds to work with undergraduates or 16 year old + school students on ecological research.

Value of the award: up to £3,000

Closing date: 1 November

Small Ecological Project Grants

Supports smaller scale ecological research work. Research must be independent of higher degrees. Value of the award: up to £1,000 travel costs and up to £1,500 other expenses. Closing date: 1 April, 1 November

Undergraduate Ecological Project Support

For undergraduates who want to spend all or part of their vacation undertaking an SEPG or any other independent ecological research project but cannot afford to do so. Value of the award: up to £2,000 Closing date: 1 April, 1 November
