Meetings and Events

sustainable_cities. Panellists at the Sustainable Cities event, 15 June 2009.The BES Policy Team organises meetings, events and seminars between ecologists and policy-makers. We facilitate discussion about key issues in ecology and in policy. The BES also run activities at key public events such as the British Science Festival.

We also organise events through the Natural Capital Initiative.

Policy Lunchbox

Policy Lunchbox is a monthly lunchtime event held by the BES and the Biochemical Society designed to initiate discussion on topical issues within the science policy community. To find out more about this event, and to book a place please click here.

Policy Training Workshop

The BES and Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) organise a policy training workshop each year. The workshop aims to give early career researchers in ecology an insight into how the policy making process works, and how to communicate effectively with policy-makers. Annual Meeting

The 2012 BES Annual Meeting will revert to its traditional timing of December and will be held on the 18th to 20th at Birmingham University. Further details will be made available in the near future. For details of past AGMs, see the annual meeting archive.
