BES Board of Trustees: Chair of Education and Careers Committee
We are seeking a leader within the ecological community to become a BES Trustee and Chair of the Education and Careers Committee.
Education and Career Support are a key activities for the Society delivering a number of strategic objectives. After several successful years in the role, the current chair of the BES Education and Careers Committee (ECC) will be stepping down in 2024, and we are seeking a replacement for this pivotal and high profile voluntary role which has a significant impact on the ecological community.
The remit of the ECC is to develop and oversee the delivery of the Society’s education, training and career development programmes. The Chair ensures the ECC operates effectively and works closely with the relevant parts of the Executive Team to achieve agreed objectives. The Chair is also a member of the BES Board of Trustees, the governing body for the Society which sets and maintains the vision of the BES and develops long-term strategy.
We are seeking an ecologist to become the Chair of the ECC for an initial term of 3 years from December 2025. The successful candidate will be co-opted to the BES Board of Trustees February to December 2025, or an alternative mutually agreed period.
