Get involved – Become a Member Rep

Love the BES? Why not become a Member Rep to promote membership, enhance your networking skills and become more involved in the work of our Society.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a diverse range of enthusiastic UK-based volunteers from across our membership base to act as Member Reps. Reps will be tasked with promoting our Society in their workplace, institution and beyond to help us reach out to new members and grow our community.

What’s involved?

  • Join us for a fun training day in Birmingham on 16 May 2018
  • Raise our profile and promote the benefits of membership at your workplace or institution
  • Host at least one membership drive every year for non-members and provide a short write-up to let us know how it went

What you’ll get

  • Free membership
  • Events training
  • Promotional materials
  • A grant of up to £200 to cover the costs of refreshments, speakers and other overheads at membership drives

How to apply

Please send a CV, a short summary outlining why you are interested and an idea you have for a membership drive to Helen, Membership Manager (helen@britishecologicalsociety.org).

Deadline 12 February 2018

The scheme will be initially trialled in the UK; however we hope to extend the opportunity to the rest of our membership next year.

If you are not based in the UK, but would like to apply to become a Member Rep in 2019, you can register your interest and upload a CV below:
