Committee job descriptions can be found below. These roles are open to development based on the network’s needs, and there is agency for the committee members to shape the role. Joining the Network’s Committee at this early stage will allow you to play a key role in shaping the network and its activities.

Membership of the EDGE Network committee is a voluntary role, which will be taken forward through participation in our Zoom calls and attendance at Network events where possible. Time spent supporting the network is expected to be around one day per month. The role is available on a three-year term and reviewed on an ongoing basis, with a maximum of two terms allowed (subject to change based on the Network’s needs).

We are looking for people with a passion for solving gender-related inclusion issues, and building a community of peers. As these are voluntary roles, experience is beneficial but not essential. Committee roles can therefore be a great way to network, gain experience in your relevant interests and build skills in these areas (e.g. membership, strategy, policy, communications).

If you are interested in taking up one of the roles below, please send an email to edge@britishecologicalsociety.org with:

  • a short paragraph explaining your interest in the position and why you would like to be involved (max 150 words)
  • a CV
