We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent event management and team leadership skills and experience of managing event budgets. You will also need to have good IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
You will assist the BES in managing the delivery of all aspects of our events programme, including our flagship scientific conference, the BES Annual Meeting, which sees 1200 ecologists gather from around the world and share the latest research.
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Society Programmes, the Events Manager will:
- Managing and delivering the Society’s Annual Meetings, symposia and other events with high quality and delegate satisfaction
- Provide leadership, motivation and direction to the Events team
- Developing the conferences and events portfolio, working with our Events Committee
- Ensure our volunteer-led Special Interest Groups are supported in delivering their events and workshops
The successful candidate will become part of a team seeking to excite and inspire our various audiences in ecology at a time when our science has never been more relevant for society. You will be based at the BES offices in Central London.
