Grants Committee

Would you like to support researchers across the world and influence the research projects that get funded globally? We have just launched our new grants portfolio and you will be helping to support one of our key goals, ensuring that 51% of our funding is supporting ecologists in the Global South.

About the Grants Committee

The Grants Committee is directly involved in the decision-making process for the grants applications received by the British Ecological Society (BES). It is also responsible for setting the annual budget to decide allocations of grant amounts. Reviewing strategic aims of the Committee and ensuring the needs of the ecological community are being met.

The BES provides grants to promote excellent ecological research, support early career ecologists, help fund training and travel and to communicate ecological science as widely as possible. In recent years, over £400,000 per annum has been awarded globally through the various society grants.
