Abstract

Results of some experiments on a range of species, including maize, castor and sunflowers, did not appear to be in accordance with the claim that appreciable rhizosphere resistances occurred in soil much wetter than the permanent wilting point. The results appeared not to conflict with the conclusion [F.C.A. 22: 3293] that for many species the rhizosphere resistance would not become appreciable until near or beyond permanent wilting.-R.B.
