Abstract

When weather was favourable (warm, dry) for ovi-position by O. frit, the combined activity of predators and parasites was found to be inadequate to protect late-sown (22-26 Apr.) oats. Effective control was achieved by spraying twice with 0.5% parathion at the 2- to 3-leaf stage, or by spraying the soil with parathion before crop emergence.-R.B.
