Abstract

Presents data from this Park showing that tall trees (mostly Acacia senegal) are very susceptible to windthrow, and that lightning often causes damage to branches and crowns. It is suggested that, in other areas, damage caused by these factors may be erroneously attributed to elephants. KEYWORDS: Acacia senegal \ Lightning \ Wind damage
