Abstract

Gives the results of a detailed survey, between 1968 amd 1971, of the distribution, density and concentration of populations of Juniperus communis subsp. communis in southern England. Aspects of the age structure of colonies have been considered, especially the tendencies of colonies to be even-aged. The survey indicates the regions where Juniper has decreased to a critical degree and, for less critical areas, shows where local examples of stands of Juniper could be conserved.
