Abstract

Damage to trees by grazing animals and prevention of damage by fencing or use of unpalatable species; effects of grazing on forest soils, including compaction and loss of nutrients; grazing as a tool in forest management, and management practices favouring forest grazing, including fertilizer usage and stocking rates, are discussed. 70 references.
