Abstract

This publication reports on the Environmental Animal Health Management Initiative (EAHMI) Conference 013, held in Makati City, Philippines, last 18-19 September 2013. The overall theme of the seminar is on "Use of environmental animal health management strategies for decision-making" which aims to gather EAHMI stakeholders on animal production and health. The conference consisted of a plenary session, five technical sessions and a poster gallery exhibit. The 20-poster exhibit showcased the work and outputs of the project in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam conducted in partnership with stakeholders in universities, government agencies, and local government units. A total of 13 presentations for the technical sessions were grouped into five categories namely: capacity building, information management systems, commissioned studies as examples of GIS applications on animal production and health, integration of environmental animal health management (EAHM) in veterinary services planning and implementation, and networking.
