Disaster and climate risk assessment for PITAG Regions in Haiti. Technical Report.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate potential disaster and climate risks for the Agricultural and Agroforestry Technological Program, PITAG in Haiti, with a particular focus on its component II which includes the promotion of sustainable agricultural technologies. This risk assessment looks at the historical timeline of climate hazard events in Haiti, farmers' experienced historical loss from climate risk, the country's exposure to climate change, and the sensitivity of crops to climate change. Recommendations are presented for implementing PITAG technical packages and a disaster and climate risk management plan.
