Abstract

This paper covers the ninth assessment of the forthcoming legislation that are considered likely to have consequences for ecologists or the environment. Issues ranging from a global scale, those in the European Union, those in the United Kingdom and constituent countries were reviewed. The purpose of this paper is to encourage greater interest and awareness of policy changes so that readers can get involved and be aware of opportunities and challenges. It is highly uncertain how Brexit will develop, which obviously has massive implications. The need to pass Statutory Instruments (under the EU Withdrawal Act, 2018) means that environmental governance after Brexit is still unclear despite publication of the Environment Bill on 19 December 2018.
