Abstract

This paper explores the ecological and economic importance of the pollination services of shea (Vitellaria paradoxa) trees in West African parklands. The importance of maintaining a diverse assemblage of woody species in parklands and setting up of conditions beneficial to honey bees and other bee species in order to maximize pollination of shea trees are also discussed.
