An introduction to evidence-based conservation (content tailored for research scientists).
Abstract
The scientific knowledge of environmental conservation has been accumulated rapidly across the planet, however, the research relationship practice needs reinforcement. The evidence-based environmental conservation aims to face this challenge through: synthesis of evidence and critical evaluations (systematic reviews, summaries); present the evidence in a way that it can be easily understood (summaries and decision support tools); and decision-making based on evidence that helps avoid bias, as well increasing transparency and effectiveness.
