Abstract

This paper provides information on using and generating evidence to improve conservation translocations. The definition, current use, and key principles of conservation translocation are discussed. In order to increase the evidence-base behind translocations, the following things are need to be done: (1) planning carefully of translocations working with a range of stakeholders and making use of skills of researchers and practitioners; (2) integrate the available evidence into plans; (3) measure the impacts of translocations and publish quickly; and (4) share data as well as outcomes.
