There is an increasing awareness of environmental problems and the need for new policies to deal with these challenges. But how can you, as scientist, help to ensure that these policies are rooted in the best evidence? If this is something you would like to learn more about, please join us for a day of policy training that will help you to shape the policies that shape our world. The session is suitable for ecologists (and other environmental scientists) at all stages of their career.

The day will start with talks from Professor Steve Ormerod (Deputy Chairman of Natural Resources Wales and former Chairman of the RSPB), Lloyd Owen (Clerk of the Environmental Audit Committee) and Dr Alice Milner (Senior Lecturer at Royal Holloway University and currently on secondment at Defra). After lunch, there will be an interactive session to help you improve how you communicate scientific research to policy makers and non-specialists.  So come prepared to get involved as the day will be highly interactive – informative and fun at the same time!
