NCI: Valuing our Life Support Systems

Valuing our Life Support Systems 2019 summit provides an independent and inclusive platform for science, policy and business communities to discuss and debate innovative natural capital science and solutions.

The Natural Capital Initiative is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the third Valuing our Life Support Systems summit in May 2019.

During two days of informative talks, interactive workshops and challenging Q&As, the summit addresses new frontiers in data and methods, governance and institutions, urban health and wellbeing, sustainable land and water management, and sustainable marine planning.

Confirmed speakers include Professor Ian Boyd, chief scientific adviser at the Defra; Kathy Willis CBE, Professor of Biodiversity at the University of Oxford; and Professor Melanie Austen, head of science at Plymouth Marine Laboratory; and many more. The summit also offers workshops from the wider natural capital community, including the JNCC, Natural England, MMO, IEEP and the Valuing Nature Network.
