Species Distribution Modelling: Fundamentals and the Future
Join the Macro SIG for this training workshop on species distribution modelling

The BES Macro Special Interest Group are hosting a course on species distribution modelling (SDM) that will introduce SDM theory and practice, and expose researchers to recent developments in the field.
The course will run over three days and will include an introductory workshop and a set of practical sessions from leaders in the field, where participants will have the opportunity to carry out analyses on a range of different SDMs. The event will also stimulate discussion about appropriate and inappropriate use of SDMs.
This course is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced users of SDMs. No previous knowledge of SDMs is required. A basic knowledge of R is required, but if you don’t know any R, don’t worry – get in touch and we can point you towards useful online resources to get you up to speed before the course starts.
SESSION LEADERS
Dr. Dan Warren, Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Center
Dr. Greta Bocedi, University of Aberdeen
Dr. Laura Pollock, Laboratoire d’Ecologie Alpine CNRS
