Your chance to get involved in all things ecology and shape our future activities for young people

We have nearly 6,000 members who are all interested in ecology and it’s really important to the BES that we listen to what our members want and we do what we can to support the next generation of ecologists.

Now, as we are planning our activities and programmes for the next 5 years , it’s also really important that you get to talk to us about what you want. We are hosting a meeting for young people aged 13-18 to come to the BES office and tell us what you think about ecology, about learning ecology and becoming an ecologist.  It’s a chance for you to tell us what you need, what you think the future should look like and how you want to stay involved with us.

Our meeting will take place on the 26th January 2019 in central London.   Download our agenda for the day.

After the meeting your ideas, suggestions and feedback will be used to inform what we do as  society for the next 5 years and we’d like you think about ways we can keep talking to you and getting your advice.

We will cover the cost of you and a parent/guardian to travel to London (and a nights accommodation for those who need to travel some distance) to attend the meeting.  You will be hosted and looked after for the day by the Head of External Affairs Karen Devine and the Chief Executive Officer Hazel Norman.  Parents are welcome to stay with you or head of to do some shopping.

If you would like to get involved or if you (or a parent/ guardian) want more information before you make a decision about getting involved, you can get in touch with Karen Devine and we will send a registration form.
