Consultation Responses
Providing robust ecological evidence.

How can you get involved?
The SPG is committed to communicating the best and most up-to-date scientific evidence to policymakers on behalf of our members. We do this by responding to relevant government consultations and Parliamentary inquiries. By drawing on the deep and diverse expertise of our members, we produce evidence-based, politically neutral positions and recommendations that carry weight with decision-makers.
If you would like help responding to a consultation, please get in touch with our Policy Officer.
You can get involved in responding to consultations in the following ways:
Getting involved in responding to a consultation can often only require a couple of sentences or a short summary of evidence. We are here to help formulate and coordinate the response so please get in touch.
Draft an Answer
Consultations and inquiries involve a list of specific questions around a particular topic. We encourage you to draft responses to questions that are relevant to your work.
Submit Evidence
Where you would like to get involved but are unable to provide us with a draft answer, we are happy to receive other forms of evidence. This can be in the form of a list of peer-reviewed journal articles or bullet points summarising research.
Review the Response
You may also offer to review responses drafted by the Policy Team and contributing members. We welcome feedback and suggestions, supported by relevant references, to fill any evidence gaps in our responses.
