Abstract

A computer program suitable for employing regression techniques for plant growth analysis where data from only a few sequential harvests are available is described. The use of the program is illustrated using data on the growth in controlled environment of Nardus stricta and Holcus lanatus grown from seed collected at sites near Sheffield. The greatly superior yields of H. lanatus were due to its much greater leafiness at early stages of growth resulting from a much higher initial relative leaf-area growth rate than in N. stricta.
