Copper pollution in Rwenzori National Park, Uganda.
Abstract
Establishment of Themeda triandra, Hyparrhenia filipendula and Heteropogon contortus was adversely affected by Cu contamination of the soil. Tillers of 6 species from contaminated and uncontaminated habitats were planted in contaminated soil; Microchloa kunthii and Sporobolus stapfianus survived for a shorter time than T. triandra, H. filipendula, Imperata cylindrica and Sporobolus pyramidalis. Data are given on the Cu content of 19 species including the above.
