Abstract

Veronica filiformis was established from 2-node fragments and spread naturally by further fragmentation equally well on bare soil and in a grass sward. The rate of increase of V. filiformis was highest under cool, moist conditions and plants were little damaged by mowing. V. agrestis and V. persica survived for one season on bare soil and produced large numbers of seedlings, few of which survived the next year. Neither V. agrestis nor V. persica survived for more than one season in a grass sward. From summary.
