Abstract

This paper describes the methods, using data on red deer (Cervus elaphus) and roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) populations at the Abernethy Forest in Scotland, UK, that can be used to estimate and maintain deer populations at levels that allow natural regeneration of native Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris).
