Abstract

This publication discusses the need for research synthesis, comparing the experience vs. evidence-based conservation and presenting the conservation context. Two types of research synthesis are explained, which are the qualitative synthesis (narrative and systematics reviews), and the quantitative systhesis, which involves vote counting and meta-analysis. The stages in systematic review are shown and an example of a systematic review is given.
