Michele Dechoum
Michele Dechoum is an applied ecologist and works as a Professor in the Department of Ecology and Zoology at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Her main research interests are (1) to assess key factors related to biological invasions in tropical and subtropical ecosystems, (2) to identify impacts generated by non-native invasive species in these ecosystems, and (3) to assess the effect of management in invaded communities and on the restoration of key ecosystem functions and processes. In partnership with local managers and different stakeholders, Michele has been working on research projects focused on the management of invasive species as well as on ecological restoration projects.
