Abstract

In the above area it is common practice to grow sorghum and other crops under trees of A. albida, which is leafless during the rainy season. Crop yields are much higher under these trees than elsewhere because of fall of pods and of leaves, and browsing and congregating by cattle in the dry season. It was concluded that A. albida should be encouraged.-R.B.
