Abstract

Browsing by goats was observed to be one of the main causes of disappearance of A. Senegal from many sites in its natural habitat. Simulated browsing seriously reduced the number of established seedlings of A. Senegal; a critical stage after which recovery was poor was considered to be when lateral roots were formed. Browsing reduced DM production and number of lateral roots formed.-R.B.
