Travel Grants to Ecology Across Borders 2017

Applications for Travel Grants to our 2017 Annual Meeting: Ecology Across Borders, are now OPEN!

 

We are excited to announce that we will be offering Travel Grants to Ecology Across Borders for students/postgraduate research assistants who are citizens of and working in a ‘low-income economy’ or ‘lower-middle-income economy’ country, according to the World Bank categorization.

Grants of up to £1000 are available and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.

If you wish to apply for a Travel Grant to attend Ecology Across Borders, please note the same conditions apply as the standard Training & Travel Grants.

In order to apply you need to:

  • Be a student/postgraduate research assistant
  • Be citizen of and working in a ‘low-income economy’ or ‘lower-middle-income economy’ country
  • Have a talk or poster presentation accepted at Ecology Across Borders
  • Be a member of the BES

This counts as a standard Training & Travel Grant, therefore the following applies: no applicant may receive more than two Training & Travel Grants in any five year period. There must be at least three years between grants.

About the Meeting: 

Ecology Across Borders is the Joint Annual Meeting of the BES, GFÖ, NecoV, in partnership with EEF. The conference will showcase internationally renowned plenary speakers, diverse thematic topic sessions, and interactive workshops forming the main scientific programme.

In addition our social programme is second to none. There are lots of great opportunities for informal networking including; the welcome mixer on the Monday evening, two poster sessions, the Special Interest Groups social events, and not forgetting our entertaining conference dinner! This year we are also running a number of cultural post conference tours, so you can enhance your stay in Ghent.

Ecology Across Borders will showcase internationally renowned plenary speakers, diverse thematic topic sessions, and interactive workshops forming the main scientific programme.

Our exhibition area is the hub for our posters, games and our fantastic exhibitors. Each of the partner societies will be present here, so do make sure to say hello. Our last day is Christmas day, so don’t forget to bring your festive outfit – we have seen some great jumpers in previous years!
