All of our membership options include the same benefits and membership is paid per annum.

Ordinary Membership is open to everyone.

We also have the following membership options for concession members:


  • Reduced – open to to anyone who is a resident in a low or lower-middle income country as classified by the World Bank.
  • Retired –  open to anyone aged over 65 and retired from full-time employment.
  • Students – student membership is open for all students. We also have 12 months free student membership offer for anyone studying an ecology or ecology-related degree who is an Undergraduate, Master’s or 1st year PhD student. Please choose the 12 months free student membership option when prompted during the membership sign up process to select this offer.

The following add-on’s are also available for all membership types in addition to your membership fee:

  • eJournals – Access to online journal content is included in you membership, however if you would like access to our journals pre-1998 via JSTOR it will cost £9 per annum

Direct debit – Membership fees can be paid by direct debit if you are a UK bank account holder or if you are based in the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA)
