Science Policy at the BES

The BES Science Policy Team works with the Public and Policy Committee and the Press Officer to communicate ecological science to policy-makers and the public.

Scientists engaging with policy-makers is fundamentally important. Policy-makers need sound scientific evidence on which to base decisions which affect society, and the environment.

As an independent, authoritiative learned society and a leading voice for ecologists in the UK, the BES and its members can play a significant role in informing sound decision-making.
