About you

We are looking for a Practitioner Editor to build the journal’s network of ecological practitioners and managers in its authorship, readership, and Editorial Board.

You will have a strong network of contacts, be used to attending professional events and possess good influencing skills. You may also hold a part-time or honorary role in an academic institution.

  • Promoting the journal within their own networks and at professional events.
  • Providing additional pre-submission guidance to authors as required.
  • Helping to recruit Associate editors to the journal’s Editorial Board.
  • Contributing to monthly Senior Editor meetings and provide insight for strategic development.
  • Ensuring that instructions to authors are relevant to journal’s target audience.
  • Occasionally acting as Handling Editor for relevant articles.
  • Joining the Advisory Board of Applied Ecology Resources and identify opportunities to better align AER with Ecological Solutions and Evidence.
