Meet new colleagues and forge new connections at our range of networking sessions.
We are excited to have a range of networking sessions on offer at a Festival of Ecology. These are free to delegates with no pre-booking required, however, do ensure you join the sessions on time. All socials will run from 19:00 GMT (excluding the Teaching & Learning Group event, which runs from 12:45 GMT).
Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) cover many specific areas of ecology and organise meetings and events throughout the year. They’re a great way of staying in touch with people in your research area. Join a SIG social to take part in activities ranging from bingo to a hat contest!
In addition our LGBT+ network and BAME network will be running socials, providing opportunites to network in an informal and inclusive setting.

Join us for the first social event hosted by the BAME Ecologist Network. We’ve planned a relaxed hour with lots of chances to drop in and out of smaller rooms to meet and greet other members of all career stages. Since we sadly can’t provide virtual refreshments, do bring a drink and some snacks!

LGBT+ Network Mixer
We’re proud to say the LGBT+ mixer is still going ahead this year, in a virtual format but as welcoming as ever! We will, as usual, provide a fun and informal event in an inclusive setting. The event will be a little structured this year, to facilitate the opportunity to circulate, meet and chat virtually with fellow LGBT+ ecologists. We can’t provide the refreshments for you on this occasion, but please bring along a drink or two if you like!

Let’s chat about the future of teaching and learning ecology post-COVID! Were there any benefits to remote learning? What were the main challenges and lessons learned in 2020? Bring your lunch and network with us in this enlightening discussion in a new world of quarantine and zoom!

To break the ice, we’ll provide conversation starters on a Bingo card. Can you complete Macro Networking Bingo?
