Spoof phone calls
A number of people have received spoof phone calls that appear to be from the British Ecological Society.
We are aware that several people have received spoof phone calls that appear to be from the British Ecological Society (BES).
Instead the calls are being made by someone unknown who is masking their phone number with an office number at the BES.
If you receive such a call, we’d ask you to be wary.
It may be that a fraudster or identity thief is looking to get people to reveal sensitive information by posing as someone from the BES. If someone asks you for such information, do not give it.
We are taking all the steps we can with our providers to halt these calls.
